Eating // Lo and behold, I'm still pretty much house ridden because of the torn ligaments in my ankle and I've not been able to go out and do anything but I have been slightly addicted to Barr Bubblegum. Seriously, does anybody remember this from when we were kids?! It tastes like rainbow dust sherbet and is less calories than other sugary drinks; (51 calories v 138 calories in Coca Cola) I know it's still not great for you, but it reminds me too much of my youth!
Reading// I've not really been in the mood to read this week (I'm re-watching Gossip Girl, oops) so I'm still reading Mary Kubica's The Good Girl but I have had a good browse through Glamour and the Lush catalogue; that counts, right?
Watching// I'm a massive Once Upon a Time fan and I'm now getting to re-watch them all with my mum. It's brilliant watching it with someone when you know what happens, especially when they are getting into it as well. She's screaming at the TV, it's actually brilliant. Though it's hard hating Regina again. Oh Regina, you exceptional character, you.
Wearing// Bandanas! Now I've had a my hair chopped, I'm finding that I can wear loads more hair accessories and it just looks too cute. I love bandanas; though I remember wearing them back in the 90s and I'm cringing a little. Think we'll cringe in another decade looking back on now? Anyway, I digress. Hair accessories, thumbs up.
Have you guys had a good week?
Eating// This week I've tried really hard to plan and prep all my meals and I think my favourite dish was one I found on Pinterest. It's a blog post from 2008 by Mel's Kitchen Cafe and it's a takeaway favourite. It's Sweet and Sour Chicken! I absolutely love Chinese food but let's face it, it ain't great for you, hence why I wanted to try one at home. This recipe is so easy to do and the results are so yummy, I would definitely tell you to give it a go.
Reading// Last week I told you that I started The Girl at Rosewood Hall by Annis Bell and while I really want to read this, another book has taken me by the hand and dragged me to their corner. The Good Girl by Mary Kubica is a thriller novel about a young, relatively good girl that leaves a bar with a charming stranger and this decision rocks her life in the worst possible way. If that doesn't leave you wanting more, I don't know what will.
Watching// I'm still off work with my ridiculously dodgy ankle so I've decided to re watch a drama that I've loved for so so long; Gilmore Girls. It's 15 year anniversary of Gilmore Girls airing and I can't get enough of Lorelai and Rory and their amazing small town life. I started watching Gilmore Girls in university and Rory was a spirit animal; she's opinionated, smart and knows exactly what she wants from life. Let's all be Rory Gilmore!
Wearing// I've not really left the house this week which is really sad so I've been chilling in my Ravenclaw trackies and my Moomin pyjamas, both from Primark. I am really exciting on this one this week. One thing I do do when I'm stuck in the house is still pop on some perfume. It makes me feel done up even if I'm only in my Ravenclaw trackies! My signature scent at the moment, and it has been this for around 18 months, is Giorgio Armani Si. With notes of Bergamot, Jasmine and Vanilla, this is not the kind of scent I usually go for, but I am head over heels in love. The only one that might top it is Black Opium. Hint hint.
How has your week been?
Do you know those posts that you've always loved reading and never got round to recreating yourself? Well, the Sunday Edit has always been that post. I absolutely love to hear what people do with the day of rest, especially as I don't usually get a Sunday off working in retail. I thought I'd let you know how my week went, in the ranges of eating, reading and watching; so here it goes.
Eating // I've been stuck in the house all week this week so I've not been able to go anywhere but I've recently got some Tic Tac Mixers in Cherry and Cola flavour; they are amazing. It's so odd to get this kind of flavour from a Tic Tac, but I'm totally on board.
Reading // I've finished two books this week and they were both by Amy Ewing. The White Rose and The House of the Stone. The White Rose is the second of a trilogy called The Lone City; a YA dystopian collection and I couldn't put it down. It is basically The Handmaid's Tale meets The Hunger Games and it's seriously brilliant. The House of the Stone is a novella which is part of same collection and is a lovely addition to keep you going. I've now started The Girl at Rosewood Hall by Annis Bell which a mystery set in the Victorian era, perfect.
Watching // This week as I've been off work with torn and strained ankle ligaments, I found myself catching up on Educating Cardiff and I have absolutely fell in love with the kids and the teachers. They are such an inspiring bunch and if you liked any of the Educating series on Channel 4, give this a go.
Wearing // Floral shirts like this one from Blue Inc, MAC Spirit and MAC Spice are my go to wears this week. MAC Spirit is a perfect 'my lips but better' shade but with Spice underneath, it transforms it into my absolute perfect nude. It suits my skin tone so nicely and I can't get enough. Shirts are usually my go to everyday staple; a pair of jeans and some tan boots and I'm good to go!
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday!
