My MAC Lipstick Collection

I've always loved reading about blogger's MAC lipstick collection but I always thought my minuscule collection wasn't worth blogging about but over the past couple of months, I've added a few to my collection and I think I've now got myself something to blog about.

Picture of My MAC Lipstick Collection
From front to back: Morange (Amplified), Red Balloon (Amplified), Girl About Town (Amplified), Viva Glam Nicki (Satin), Sunny Seoul (Cremesheen), Viva Glam Gaga (Lustre), Creme De La Femme (Frost), Up The Amp (Amplified), Rebel (Satin) and Spirit (Satin)

Everyday: My favourite everyday MAC lipstick has to be Spirit. It's an amazing 'my lips but better' shade for me and it's constantly in my bag as an easy go to shade. Spirit is a Satin finish, so it glides onto the lips with absolute ease, making it even more perfect for the day. I also wear Sunny Seoul, a Cremesheen finish, a lot as well just because it's a really easy pink to wear. I do find it needs a lot of building but when it's on, it's lovely!

Evening: I always seem to gravitate to Up The Amp for my evening shade and I think it's because it's such a lovely lavender colour. I think it's a little bit different so I like to make a bit of a statement with it. The finish is Amplified so, much like Morange, you don't need to build the colour up to make an impact, it's already there for you.

Summer: Morange is definitely an amazing Summer shade and I would recommend it to anyone if they are after a really bright lipstick! An Amplified finish, this MAC lipstick is super pigmented and it doesn't take much to be incredibly in your face. Perfect for such a bright shade.

Autumn: If you don't have Rebel tucked away in your collection, get it immediately. It's a lovely berry finish and is a lovely colour for the Autumn months. The finish is Satin so it glides on really nicely but I always make sure I've scrubbed the lips down to it sits nicely.

Do you have a favourite in my collection?

Firstly, if you got the My Big Fat Greek Wedding quote, 10 points to Gryffindor. Secondly, don't look at me like that! I know EVERYTHING I'm wearing is New Look but if you give me a chance I'll tell you why. It's simple really, I work there and get 50% off BUT I think a lot of high street shoppers need to start giving New Look another chance. I remember a few years ago, I'd walk into New Look and walk straight back out but now, it's different. Look at this Black Floral Print Longline Kimono for goodness sake, it's absolutely stunning and I refuse to actually take it off. With the likes of Lily wearing it as well, you know it's going to be popular! Teamed simply with a black cami, black boots and some jeans, I let it do all of the talking for me. A lot of this stock in old stock but you can find similar items in New Look and they are currently have 20% off for students until Friday, online and instore!

What do you think of this outfit?

MAC Rebel and Currant: Review

MAC Rebel Lipstick and Currant Lip Pencil (£14 & £11.50) - MAC

Recently, I popped into Selfridges to spend the last of my Christmas money and I knew that I wanted to try another MAC lipstick. I chose 3 to try on, Syrup (which just turned out to be the colour of my lips), Girl About Town (which now I want next) and Rebel which I came home with (obviouslyyyy) I'd seen a few reviews and I was rather iffy to be frank but I thought I'd give it a go but in my mind thinking 'oh it'll definitely be Girl About Town'. Oh how I was SO wrong, Rebel is the most gorgeous deep berry shade with MAC calling it a 'Midtonal Cream Plum'. I LOVE it, so much. The longevity is good, around 3 hours without eating or drinking but let's face it, all lipsticks are like that and it really does feel like satin on the lips, something I'm rather liking but I don't think it'll beat Cremesheen, but it's close! It doesn't accentuate the dry bits but I still wouldn't prep beforehand. Now onto Currant, the first of many MAC Lip Pencils. The lovely girl that helped me brought it over for me to have a gander at because they are usually bought together and I can see why. Currant and Rebel are the perfect love affair, bringing out the deepness in Rebel but still keeping the plum berryness (because that's an adjective!) and it'll go with a few of my darker shades as well. I'm thinking money well spent here!

Have you ever tried Rebel? Got a MAC shade you really want right now?

MAC Up The Amp Lipstick: Review

MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick in Up The Amp (£14) - MAC

Recently, I won this lipstick, along with a gorgeous MAC eye shadow palette from Zoe's wonderful blog and  I am literally, 100% in love with my choice of lipstick. I am loving purple toned lip colours at the moment and this one is claimed to be a 'lavender violet' by MAC. On the lips, this is a toned down violet colour, leaning more towards pink, such an easy colour to wear in the day along with moving into the night. The pigmentation is crazy good as well, I'd never tried this finish before and found it to be rather thick to go on, and very creamy but rather hydrating at the same time. I thought myself that the longevity of the product was okay, but nothing amazing but I can live with that for such a pretty colour! I just think this lipstick is on the sweet end of purple, one that will suit practically every skin tone and is just that little bit more out there than your normal pink lippie. If you're at the MAC counter, give this a swatch, you won't be disappointed.

Have you tried Up The Amp? What do you think?

MAC lipstick in Sunny Seoul: Review

MAC Cremesheen and Pearl lipstick in Sunny Seoul  (£14) - MAC

Now everybody, just to let you know, this is my first and my only MAC lipstick, I know right, CRAZY, but I'm in love with this baby so I have about 14 others on a wishlist. Sigh. Now onto this lovely lipstick. Sunny Seoul is from the Cremesheen and Pearl collection which is basically the Cremesheen collection but has crushed pearls in there, to add a little sparkle and to be truly honest, I don't see much of a sparkle but that's fine by me, not like I wanted my lips shining like diamonds anyway. As you can probably tell from past posts, I am partial to a pink lipstick. I think it's the colour that suits me the most and I can easily wear it, day and night and this shade of pink is one that I didn't have in my collection. Described as a 'frosted light warm pink' which in my opinion is dead on, slightly peachy and glides on like a dream it gives you a lovely glossy finish, but nothing too in your face at all. For me, the perfect day lipstick which at the moment, constantly in my handbag!

What is your favourite MAC lipstick? Ever seen this one when you're looking around?

MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow in Gilt By Association: Review

MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow in Gilt By Association* (£16.50) - MAC

Here is another one of my duty free/holiday purchases, and I think my favourite of them all. I have been lusting after this eye shadow for a while now and I was literally over the moon to get this and have it as part of my collection. MAC describes this as a 'mineralize black with gold bronze pearl' and that is exactly what it is. I love layering this on top of a neutral background on my lid and it just pops, a perfect day look for myself as I love to have my eye makeup to be quite dramatic at all times and I think this is just what I've been looking for. Be warned though, because of the mineralised powder you can experience a little bit of fall out but I think even with this miner flaw, it's still an amazing investment seeing as you get 2.2g of product which is a lot and will last for a ridiculous amount of time.

What do you think of this eye shadow? Worth the money?

MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Plum Foolery: Review

MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Plum Foolery* (£17.50) - Selfridges

This blush, oh this blush! I think I should warn you all that this review is definitely going to be a rave, I just adore this product, so much that I've used this every day for nearly a month. This was one of two MAC products I was kindly treated to by my parents in Duty Free and this one was a spur of the moment buy. I hadn't really looked at MAC blushes before, my attention always drawn to the the lipsticks and eye shadows but I am so glad I picked this up. The shade is so easy to wear, myself treating this as quite a dusky pink to plum colour, which is what I love to wear. It is easily buildable so you never look like a clown has just ran into you and this does last a considerable amount of time, around 3 hours which, for me, is great because usually I can put on a blush and it'll disappear within the hour (does anybody have any idea why this could be?!) The shimmer in this blush is not at all offensive, I can only really see a small amount, but just enough to give your face a lovely glow and on my olive/tanned skin, I think this is a perfect Autumn blush as it's not bright at all, just a soft, warm, happy glow!

Have you tried Plum Foolery? What is your favourite blush at the moment?

My Big Fat Greek Haul!

Okay, first up, I am so sorry for the continued absence from my blog. I've just got myself back to uni to find the internet is playing up (sigh!) At the moment, it seems to be okay (fingers and toes crossed please!) so here I am, blogging again, yaaaaay! Today, I wanted to give all my readers a sneak peak into what I treated myself, and what was treated to me from my recent holiday to Greece. Before going, I knew that both Korres and Apivita would be brands that I could get my hands pretty easily over there so I made sure I took some pennies with me, plus you never know, Bioderma could have made its way to the Greek shelves!

First up is a couple of items that I was treated to by my parents in Duty Free, and we all know that that is where the holiday starts ;) First up is a MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Plum Foolery which is absolutely gorgeous, and secondly is a eye shadow that I've been lusting after since July, Gilt By Association. I am in love with both of these products!

Ahhh, Korres! Now, in Greece I went into around 4 different pharmacies, and only 2 had these stocked. I have Wild Rose, Jasmine and Quince and my favourite has to definitely be Quince!

Because I loved the lip butters so much, I wanted to dabble into the brand a little further so I went with a couple of eye shadows. I got 2 neutral shades, one a little brighter than the other, 31 - Bronze Brown and 27S - Golden Bronze.

Now onto Apivita, a brand that a saw around the blogging world a lot and definitely wanted to give a go. Now, I love anything rose related so I jumped at the chance to give this lip balm a go. I love the simplicity of the packaging and it's a brilliant product, a perfect handbag lip balm!

Face masks! Oh I do love a face mask and I had to get my hands on the honey one which a lot of bloggers LOVED. I also chose the aloe as well seeing as I was in the sun a lot!

I rather enjoy what I got over on my holiday and I promise to give you all full reviews of each of the products.

Which of these products do you want to see reviewed first?
