Last night, as you may have seen on a few blogs today, was Lush's event for their new range, Emotional Brilliance which I attended in Manchester with the lovely Nadia from Dressing Table Delights. Now, if you haven't seen it yet, Emotional Brilliance is a new range of make up that's now in stories and has been worked on for around 2-3 years behind the scenes so we know they have definitely worked really hard on this, and you can definitely tell! First up, let's have a look see at the colour wheel!
This is the colour wheel which is full of some of the most vivid colours and the way that it works is that you sit down, close your eyes and when you open your eyes you pick the first three colours that stand out to you. It's a fun way to have a look at some different shades but I'll be honest, I don't think I'll wear my colours very often!
I chose 'Dynamic', 'Motivation' and 'Drive' and they each have a little meaning in the order that you choose them. My strength was 'Dynamic', which was a word a liked to see in myself, I think the man who read me said that this meant something along the lines of change, and I can deal with it well. The second colour represents your subconscious, and mine was 'Motivation' which is kinda okay with me seeing as I'm about to enter my third year of university, give me all the motivation! Now the third colour represents your aspiration, and mine was 'Drive' so kinda links in with all of them really, wahey! To be honest with you though, the only one I would use is 'Dynamic' but they are all stunning colours, you wanted to stay there and play all day, swatching all the beautiful shades of any colour you can think of!
Say hello to Nadia in the mirror! |
See what I mean? They are all so darn pretty. Each of these little bottles are £14.50 each which I thought was a little on the steep side but I guess they can be used as eyeliners, eyeshadows and lipsticks. I'll be honest with you, I don't think I'd purchase any of these but the other half of the show is where my loyalties definitely lie!
As well as the magic bottles, Lush have come up with a range of colour supplements, skin tints, translucent powder, mascara and what seems to be a highlighter. I LOVE the idea of the colour supplements, with a range from light pink to dark yellow which you mix with your moisturiser. Hello tinted moisturiser!
All in all, I thought it was a brilliant night and the staff in the Manchester Arndale store put on hell of a show! They were all lovely and enthusiastic and even though I didn't go home with anything from the new line, I did come home with a sample of Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask and Fair Trade foot lotion which I thought was lovely of them. Now, I shall leave you with a picture of me and the lovely Nadia :)
Did you attend an event last night? Have you seen Emotional Brilliance yet?
ooh the colour supplements look very interesting! :)
ReplyDeleteI think so too! I love that they do a lot of different shades as well, winner! :)
DeleteThey do look really interesting and I just love how bright they are. I think although they are a little pricey i'd be tempted to get on just to try out. Really interested in their powder though!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd get one that I could use for loads of different things because you can use them all over the face. Maybe a really good lip colour? The powder was amazing!
