Clinique Chubby Stick in Voluptuous Violet: Review

Clinique Chubby Stick in Voluptuous Violet* (£16) - Boots

As my small Christmas present from my fiance, he got me an absolutely gorgeous Clinique Chubby Stick in a lovely violet colour. I can understand why these little sticks have got the hype they have done because I genuinely love mine, especially as my lips are absolutely horrible at the moment. It's nice to have something that is good to my lips, and looks good at the same time. I do have to admit, £16 is A LOT of money to spend on what is actually a glorified lip balm but I think the colour makes all the difference for me. I love purple shades this winter and it's going to be constantly in my bag this winter as I don't have a purple lip colour that I can use constantly like this but if I'm honest, I wouldn't buy another Chubby Stick but probably just go for the cheaper Revlon alternative which are currently £5 in Boots instead of the usual £7.99 price tag. Basically, I think this is an absolutely fantastic product but just doesn't justify the £16.

Do you agree, or are you happy to pay the £16?

Apivita Lip Care with Pink Rose Lip Balm: Review

Apivita Lip Care with Pink Rose Lip Balm (£4-5) - Marks & Spencer

Whilst I was in Greece I did get a few lovely products including this Apivita lip balm which is absolutely amazing. Apivita is one of Greece's biggest natural beauty brands and has finally made its way to our lovely shores in the shape of Marks & Spencer's beauty floors. This lip balm is so nourishing and the added rose scent is lovely but I love anything rose related so I may be a little biased. What I really like about this brand is that it uses such typically Greek products, beeswax and olive oil, which we have heard time and time again are brilliant for us! I usually use this after I scrub my lips (usually using my Lush Bubblegum lip scrub) and it really brings my lips back to life after such a beating but I would use this throughout the day as it does leave a slightly tinted look, which is a gorgeous soft pink that I usually go for in a lip colour. Plus, it's down to £4 on the M&S website right now!

Have you tried anything from Apivita before? What is your favourite lip balm?

Guest Post: Top 5 Lip Products by Hayley from Water Painted Dreams

Good morning bright eyes! Fourth guest post for this morning, and it's from a lovely lady named Hayley who runs Water Painted Dreams. I do rather love her blog, and I think it should definitely be on your follow list! Now, I give you Hayley! :)

----------  ----------

Hello everyone! I'm Hayley and I blog over at Water Painted Dreams but Sia has let me take over her blog for a bit to share this guest post with you all. Today I'm going to be telling you all about my top 5 favourite lip  products. When it comes to make up, lip products are one of the things I like to use most. I always feel a lot more confident when wearing lipstick!

My top five, in no particular order are Revlon's Lip Butter in Pink Truffle, Yves Saint Laurent's Gloss Volupte in  Frosted Plum, Lush's Bubblegum Lip Scrub, No7's Stay Perfect Lipstick in Grace and Accessorize's Lipstick in Berry Rose.

Grace, Berry Rose, Pink Truffle, Frosted Plum.

Grace is a lovely dark matte lip colour. I think that this is a great lipstick for autumn/winter wear. Depending on how you apply it it can be a really dark vampy colour or a nice berry-pink. The lasting power is pretty good too and it doesn't dry out my lips as much as I expected to as it's matte.
Berry Rose is a lovely girly pink with a satin finish. It's a great colour for spring and is very casual so can be worn to work/school. The lasting power isn't too great but it's such a lovely colour I don't mind re-applying. Apologies for the eyelash in the swatch, I didn't even notice it when I was taking the photo.
Pink Truffle is one of the newest additions to my lip product collection. Being a lip butter it applies on quite sheer but has a lovely glossy look without being too sticky. I absolutely love this 'my lips but better' colour.
Frosted Plum is definitely one of the most expensive lip products I own and it was a gift. It's a great sheer gloss that's great for giving you lips a subtle bit of colour. I probably won't repurchase because of the price but it's been a joy to use.
Bubblegum Lip Scrub I've been using this for over a year now and I still haven't ran out. It's a great lip scrub that smells amazing. And the best part? You can eat it too, it tastes fantastic.
Thank you for reading this post and a massive thank you to Sia for letting me do this guest post. If you want to find me my blog URL is www.waterpainteddreams.blogspot.com and my instagram username is whathayleydidtoday. Thank you :)
