Here is the post that I promised about Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds and I have to say, it's an incredibly beautiful place. I can definitely understand why my sister wants to get married here one day. It was a lovely day and the sun shining through the ruins really just made it that much better. Historically, there is a lot going on with it being founded circa 1152. In 1538, during Henry VIII's reign, the abbey was disestablished in the dissolution of the monasteries all around Britain and because of this, we are left with what is a ruin that Leeds Council has made public. Perfect for a day out with the family or friends on a gorgeous sunny day. Just be careful of the ladybird infestation they have there, I'm sure I left with a few in my hair!
I hope you get to visit one day as well :) xx
